A friendly little festival in the Weald of Kent

Tenterden Folk Festival has been running for over 25 years and seems to get better each time. It’s the kind of festival I like—no huge open-air stages where the audience are miles away but a lot of small venues spread around the town. Most of them are acoustic and the guest list tends towards the more traditional end of the folk spectrum, but there is always a mix of the old stagers like me and the new faces. There is also plenty of Morris around the town plus a big procession on Saturday afternoon and a craft fair.

I’ll be doing a nice mix of events alongside a lot of old friends who I’ve been rubbing shoulders with for 40 years;

FRIDAY  4.30—6pm I’ll be hosting a STORY ROUND at the Glebe Hall

  7.30—11pm CONCERT in the White Lion Saddlery. Also appearing Nick Dow, Stan Graham, Tom Lewis Keith Kendrick & Sylvia Needham

SATURDAY  2.00—2.45  Songs and Stories at Tenterden Museum

  4.00—6pm  I’ll be hosting/chairing an INTERVIEW with Mike Wilson (of The Wilsons) and Damien Barber (of The Demon Barbers) who are working together as a duo at the festival.

  7.30—11pm CONCERT in the White Lion Saddlery. Also appearing Andy Turner, Mike Wilson & Damien Barber, Nick Dow, Dan McKinnon, The Snapes

SUNDAY  12.30—1.30 Songs and Stories of Kent with Andy Turner

  6.00—11.30pm Final CONCERT in the White Lion Saddlery. Also appearing Dick Miles, Nick Dow, Stan Graham, Kendrick & Sylvia Needham, Notts Alliance
